I recently moved to here and was hunting for a RN job. I have 2 years RN experience at Med/Surg as day shift in different state. I also have RN experience in other country as night. I recently got an offer at Swedish, but as night shift position. I’m so worried that night shift will cause insomnia, bad mental health and other negative effects that affected my mental and physical health when I was doing night shifts. But I’m also aware that it is very hard to find a job in Seattle. So I’m thinking I should just accept the offer. But again, I’m so concerned about my mental and physical health. What should I do? Keep looking for a day shift position while using my savings and live off of my husband’s income, which is not a lot. Ugh. Please advise, thanks in advance!

LOST DOG: Last seen yesterday in Magnolia, she's very friendly and not used to being away from home. She has respiratory issues and allergies, including chicken. Boomer is microchipped. Please text if you see her. 😢 [link] [comments]

Moved to Seattle a year ago for my Master’s: Now that I’m done, trying to actually explore the city and make some friends! Hey everyone! I moved to Seattle about a year ago for my Master’s program. Between classes, assignments, projects, and everything else that came with grad school, my schedule was pretty packed, and I never really got the chance to build much of a social circle outside of school. Now that I’ve finished my Master’s, life suddenly feels a lot less hectic, and I’ve realized I’d really like to meet some new people and make a few good friends here in Seattle. Figured I’d try my luck on Reddit and see if there are others in a similar situation, maybe you’re new to Seattle, recently graduated, moved here for work, or have just been trying to expand your social circle too. I’m pretty open to grabbing coffee, checking out places around the city, going for walks, trying new activities, or just hanging out and having good conversations. No pressure or expectations, just hoping to meet some genuine people and see where it goes. If this sounds like you, feel free to comment or DM me. Would be great to connect! :)

On 10/6 at around 12:40 PM in Queen Anne, about a block from Trader Joe's, I witnessed an Amazon driver in a white Enterprise van hit a parked blue car. The van's driver-side rear quarter panel struck the blue car's driver-side rear bumper while the driver was making a left turn into an empty parking spot. The driver, who was wearing an Amazon shirt, got out and inspected both vehicles. However, he did not leave a note and drove away afterward. I left a note on the blue car's windshield with a description of what I witnessed. I also tried to take a photo of the van, but unfortunately it came out blurry and out of focus. This occurred near the intersection of W. Crockett St and 1st Ave W. The blue car was parked on 1st Ave W. Posting in case the owner of the blue car sees this.

I wonder what the reaction would be if these celebrations were to for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. A couple years earlier there was an Islamic terrorist attack in Africa in which UW students held vigils on campus. I wonder what the reaction would be if Jewish students chose to celebrate those killings

I am trying to get some friends together from different friend groups and am feeling stressed about picking the right event to do together this Friday 10/9. I saw that Belltown was having an art walk and wanted to ask folks who have been there - was it any good? Like were the exhibits fun to walk through, was it actually artist work spaces to visit, activities, ambiance?

I have a standard Lakewood duplex. I've owned it since 2018 and both kitchens have a bank of light switches by the door to the stairwell. The black switch operates the stairwell lights to the top and bottom floors but the other two in the top apartment and the other three in the bottom unit don't seem to do anything. Does anyone have a duplex where all of the switches do something and if so, what do they control for yours?
