Hi everyone! We’re considering moving to Kirkland with our family and would love some advice from local parents! We have a 6-year-old who will be in elementary school and an 18-month-old , and one of our biggest priorities is finding a neighborhood that feels very family-oriented and connected . We’re especially looking for: • Neighborhoods where kids actually play outside together — lots of families, kids riding bikes, playing in yards, etc. •A neighborhood where it’s easy to meet other parents and make friends •ideally somewhat walkable to parks, coffee, restaurants, playgrounds, or other things we could walk to with the kids • Elementary schools with strong parent involvement — active PTO/PTA, classroom volunteering, school community events, etc. •Schools that have a warm, welcoming community and where parents tend to be involved and know one another • A place where my 6-year-old could potentially make neighborhood friends and have kids nearby to play with We’re open to different parts of Kirkland and are trying to figure out which neighborhoods have the best sense of community for a young family , rather than just looking at school ratings. We’re currently looking at homes around downtown Kirkland, Juanita, and the central Kirkland area , but we’re definitely open to other neighborhoods. Thank you so much! We’re moving from out of state, so hearing from actual Kirkland families would be incredibly helpful.

Our friend just found this guy on the street a couple blocks from Kennydale Elementary, no collar or ID; working to get him to a vet to check for and hopefully scan a chip. If you know this little pup please DM me! About 15 pounds, again was found a couple blocks from Kennydale Elementary at about 7:00pm today.
Picking up a friend up in Vancouver in late December and planning to hike around the Olympic Peninsula for about a week. What are your must-see spots? Prepared for decent amounts of snow but nothing crazy. Been to Sol Duc before and it was kind of underwhelming for the drive there from Seattle.
Context : Single, Mid 20's Male. Not really into clubbing or a party heavy nightlife, but love a vibrant and active LGBTQ+/alternative community. More-so into shows/concerts and event gatherings, local sports, and volunteering groups. Recently got a job offer in the Northgate area as a nurse. Anticipated move date later this year pending all the paperwork and such. Assuming my pay rate is what I anticipate it to be for a 5 day 40/hr work week without taking call shifts, I expect around 6k/month, so my ideal 30% budget for a one bedroom apartment without utilities would be $1,800 . Utilities I plan to cover with call shifts within a month period, so I chose to not include it into the base budget. I might end up needing my car, but I'm still on the fence on that, though think of it as If I do. Nothing is concrete right now but I just want to get a general idea on the neighborhoods people live in, and especially those who work in the Northgate area and commute to and from. How's the commute with transit and driving during peak and low hours? What areas would fit my demographic and lifestyle? Places I should avoid due to demographics or personal price range? Help is deeply appreciated from all of you, so thank you so much! Please let me know if additional context is needed so as to help everyone out with providing insight.
Coming here cause i got recommended the hospital by a friend. Not super familiar with seattle area! So just wanted to hop on and ask.
Get excited! We will be opening our doors starting this Thursday from 1-3. This will be a new recurring shopping day! We are also open two Saturdays a month, and this month happens to be this Saturday, Oct 10th from 1-3. Then an extra long open shopping day on the 24th from 12-6. This open shopping day will be held in conjunction with the Boondock Bookstores book fair. It’s always a fun time. We also have increased the number of items a person can shop and take home, from 6 to 8! That means two more items for you to fall in love with and take home to wear with pride. For those who we haven’t met before, we are a small free shopping boutique for the trans and nonbinary community. We have our own side entrance in the church that it is located in. This side entrance doesn’t have anything religious, just our smiling welcoming faces. We are here to meet you where y oh are in your journey. We offer a whole boutique with most sizes. We have a private fitting room with great lighting. We also carry binders, tucking and packing undergarments. Sometimes the sizes may be slim but we try to keep on top of that. We look forward to meeting you!

I’m making a large catio and am planning on using a post/wire fence as the main structure. Anyone have any recommendations for a local fence guy/gal?
Ah yes, another day of grey and gloom. Whatever shall we do?
My fiance and I have to get married earlier than expected because I need a dental procedure his insurance covers and mine doesn't. We are planning on keeping it a secret. We are having a large wedding in the summer. I know it would not necessarily be a big deal if people knew, but it is fun to have something just for the two of us, considering how stressful all these different wedding planning expectations are. We have two friends we trust to keep it quiet who would be witnesses. We would write out your speech for you, you would just have to be at the location around 5/5:30pm, read it, and sign off on the license. Please let me know if you're down.
