This is a great resource for all of us to see what respiratory illnesses are elevated in King County. Can also help you time your COVID/Flu/RSV vaccinations :) FYI - Flu appears to be increasing earlier this year, so go get your shots!

Hey folks! I’ve seen a couple Seattle Horde communities getting started and several people asking about Alliance, so I’m putting together a Seattle-area Alliance guild on the PvP ruleset for WoW Forever. I’m new to Seattle and looking to make some friends here. Figured fighting the Horde together is as good an icebreaker as any. The goal is to build a group that enjoys playing together and getting to know each other, both in-game and around Seattle. We’ll be leveling, running dungeons, and organizing PvP together, with room for PvE too. I want us to play well and put up a good fight, but you won’t need to make WoW your second job to belong. I’m based in Shoreline, but folks from across Seattle and the surrounding Puget Sound area are welcome. I’m aiming for optional monthly IRL hangouts , likely somewhere near light rail in North Seattle: grab food or drinks, talk games, and put faces to Discord voices. There’s also space in Discord to group up for other games. Ideally, this becomes a circle of friends that lasts beyond the launch rush. Banter is welcome; racism, homophobia, and harassment aren’t. Come ready to fight the Horde and treat your guildmates well. Join the Discord: https://discord.gg/VNdY4teJwV And if you’re interested in helping organize PvP or community events, I’d love to hear from you!
I posted this in r/AskSeattle as well, but wanted to hear from anyone who has actually had a dispute with a landlord in Seattle/Washington before, because this situation is driving me nuts. We rented a place in July on a 12-month lease. The place is not cheap, for context. It wasn’t super clean during the inspection, but we had to move in because our POD was arriving the next day and everything had been planned around this place. We were stupid enough to sign the move-in checklist. Then we had it all. The carpet was so filthy that we ended up hiring a professional cleaner, who pointed out a lot of old piss in the carpet 🥴 This was the nursery room. The shower leaked the next night, and we ended up living with what was basically a construction zone in the corner of the room for two months. The landlord was doing some things, but nothing that actually improved the situation. We finally decided we were done when they put the same piss-stained carpet back down after replacing the subfloor because, according to them, the carpet issue was “superficial.” 🤷♀️ I hired an independent inspector who documented multiple violations and provided the report to the landlord. RRIO sent them a Notice of Violation for not registering the property as a rental. An SDCI complaint has also been open for over a month, and I was never able to reach either the assigned inspector or their manager. They patched up some things before we moved out on September 30. We terminated the lease based on constructive eviction, unsanitary conditions, and several other issues our lawyer listed. The King County legal clinic told me our case is solid. At the same time, both lawyers I’ve spoken with have said this is not a slam dunk. Now the landlord is still doing repairs that they didn’t do while we were actually living there, they have refused to return our deposit, and they keep threatening us with a lawsuit. I’m honestly dreading this. Has anyone here been through anything similar? What actually happened after you moved out? Did your landlord sue, threaten to sue and then drop it, send you to collections, negotiate, etc.? Is there anything else I can realistically do at this point? These past two months have sucked out my soul 😭

Any place in Seattle where there’s nets set up and I can just go play volleyball. I want to get better without taking classes
Looking for someplace that I can get a couple of the plastic tier sheets that come between layers of palletized cans used in canning beer/cider/etc. Anybody out there work at a brewery that would be willing to part with a couple?

Why is the city allowing the COVID era favela to reconstitute itself on 53rd?
Seems like a LOT of people have this cruddy, lingering cold. Nagging cough where you cough hard and nothing comes up? Felt like hell for 2-3 days and slow improvement over 2+ weeks with that cough? We got tested and it’s not Covid nor is it Flu.
