Times are different than the 90s, when I grew up. Let’s face it, no more boxes in front of Fred Meyer full of puppies. Where is the best place to adopt/purchase either a lab mix, or a German shepherd? Anyone have any leads/sources? We have one middle-aged cat, two older kids who are great with animals, and a small rental house. We are totally fine with lots of walks. Someone is always home other than ~5 hours twice a week. Send me your sources!

Their capacity of 92 million gallons of oil is eight times the volume of oil spilled by the Exxon Valdez, he noted. Ferguson said the size of the oil supertankers envisioned for the route are unprecedented, and have been barred from Washington ports since the 1970s. Ferguson said Friday that he was "disappointed" at the decision because resources needed to respond to a major spill are insufficient today. ~ Canada collects the export revenue. The Salish Sea absorbs the risk, and Washington covers a cleanup it already admits it cannot staff.
Saw this bird today at greenlake standing alone in one place. No friends, no mates, surrounded by the usual ducks and geese.
Any friends living in Lake Sammamish, Washington State, USA? I’m curious: which neighborhoods nearby have small ponds—just the right size, not too big or too small, where Tabi’s fish can hide

As reported in a previous post, when Mayor Wilson was recently confronted by protesters demanding she cancel the sister city relations with a city in Israel she responded “I believe we can maintain connections with people and with culture even as we abhor the actions of a government". Here's pictures from the meeting two months ago between the Mayor and Somali officials. Pictured here is previous presidential candidate, ambassador, and current Port of Mogadishu president Mohamed Ali Nur. According to an African news source his appointment as Port commissioner was controversial due to a history of widespread corruption and embezzlement. The article also cites, "the port has lacked transparency, creating opportunities for politically connected elites, business cartels, officials and even Al-Shabaab militants to skim off revenues or under-declare imports. The port has also been linked to the movement of arms, counterfeit goods, and untaxed commodities, enriching smugglers and corrupt networks." News that the of SeaTac and the Port of Seattle officials met with them had been known for some time. In that case also, it only became known to the public here when Somali officials posted photos of this meeting along with claims of a sister city agreement, expanding trade and tourism. They responded to an email inquiring about this by confirming these facts to be true. Two days later they emailed again to deny it. As a transit diagram, the intention is not to be geographically accurate, but if you're familiar with Tacoma it should be quite easy to figure out exactly where a particular line or station would be. This is one of my first transit diagrams, I've never done one like this before. Sometimes when I share this I hear people say "Tacoma doesn't deserve something like this". I disagree strongly. I love the T Line, and I think our leaders here in Pierce County need to dream big when it comes to high capacity transit. Tacoma Community College Link Extension's representative alignment uses 19th, but I opted to get there on 6th instead so it doesn't conflict with Pierce Transit's plan for BRT on 19th, which would be faster anyway because buses can go up and down the hills. Every station can be at street level except for Point Defiance Park, Point Defiance Ferry Terminal, and Stewart Heights due to topography. Before any tangible proposal, there's always a long range plan or vision map that says "this is what we eventually want to have". Dreaming is part of the process, but I have to say our leaders' dreams are so boring!! Finally, I'll add that I'm not saying anything has to be done through a specific agency, and all of this is within Tacoma city limits except for some little bits in Ruston, University Place, and Fircrest.
This is the home for lost and found around Tacoma, refreshed every week. If you've lost something or come across something that isn't yours, drop a comment below. A few things that help: Say whether you lost or found the item, and lead with what it is. Add the rough area and the day, as much as you're comfortable sharing. For anything with a serial number or other identifying detail, hold that back in your public comment and trade it over DM once someone reaches out, so the real owner can prove it's theirs. Lost or found a pet? we recommend posting in r/LostPetsTacoma too, but you’re welcome to post in this thread as well. For everyone's safety, please be smart about meeting people from the internet. Comb through the comments before posting in case your item is already here. Good luck, and thanks for looking out for each other.
I walked into pagliacci on Capitol Hill wanting a couple of slices and one option was the taco time pizza. I really enjoyed it. It doesn't taste like any specific taco time menu item but just the general flavor of taco time. It has their hot sauce for sure and the seasoned beef, along with some lettuce, tomato, and cheese. I think there was refried beans but if there was it was minor. It's not an everyday pizza, it's a "if you like Taco time and want to try it as a pizza" pizza. As a taco time lover I'd say try it, but you have to love Taco time.
