I wanted to celebrate last night with Indian food and learned there is a new Indian restaurant in shoreline! It’s across Aurora from Costco. Their name is terrible lol but the food was delicious and the owner/staff were sooo friendly! We tried a bunch of stuff (butter chicken, lamb curry, tikka masala, but we all loved the biryani best. Naan is delicious too. This location can’t seem to keep restaurants so I wanted to spread the word! I really hope they make it.

When Pearl Youth Residence closes, there will be just three state-funded facilities left that offer this level of treatment. [...] Gleason said staff aren't sure how many youth will need to be placed in different residential programs. They also don't know if there will be enough open beds at the other state-funded facilities. Since 2020, the nonprofit has lost $3 million from facility operations. [...] The closure of Pearl Youth Residence will result in the layoff of 92 staff. ~ Three sites left for the whole state, and not one person quoted here can say where the current 16 kids land.
I wanted to reply to a post from about a year ago about a rumor that Midnight Tint was sold to us by the owner of Bespoke Tint in Bellevue. That is completely incorrect. It was actually the other way around. I started Midnight Tint in 2001 behind the stereo shop. I grew the business over the years, and at one point we had four locations. The Bellevue location was sold to him when I decided to downsize. We later ran into issues, and I told him I would revoke the license to use the name. Being bitter, he has probably told clients that he was the original owner of Midnight. That is not true. I have no hard feelings, and I really do not care, but I do want the record set straight. After 25 years in this business, I currently own only the Shoreline / Seattle Midnight Tint location. The Everett location is owned by Chase, a former employee of mine. A lot of local window tint businesses were started by people who worked for me at some point. Tim from Emerald City Tinting in Seattle worked for me for about three years at my original Seattle location. Vince at United Tint in Everett worked at my Everett location for about two or three years before starting Blue Star Auto Salon. Stephan rented space from me at the Seattle location for a couple of years before starting his own business in Everett. Dan from DC Window Tinting in Marysville also worked for me at one point. Felix from All Season Tint worked for me for a few years. The list goes on. Midnight Tint has been around for more than 25 years. I am passing the torch to my two sons, who are 19 and 17 and have been training in the business. Next year I will be handing Shoreline over to them to run with the rest of the team. This business has been a blessing. It has been a lot of work, and we have done a lot of fun projects. I now live in another state, where I will continue doing window tinting, paint protection film, detailing, ceramic coatings, and related work. So, to be clear: the rumor on that Reddit thread — that the business was going downhill, or that someone sold Midnight Tint to us — is not true. I am Brett, the original owner, and I always have been. Have a good day.
Dodge challenger (silver) and a Black SUV with heavy tint windows. Agents were wearing plainclothes but tan vests with “POLICE ICE” in yellow lettering. Vehicle pulled over was a landscaping truck at roughly 0825 AM. Stay safe out there.
Anyone seen fresh juice or smoothie that is cucumber based with other fruits/veggie (but cucumber forward)? Stores, juice bars, cafes? Thank you!
Our 10-year old loves D&D, anyone know of local tween-friendly places that have get-togethers / games? Looking for after school or weekend options. Thanks!
Looking for indoor birthday party ideas for a 4-year-old in early December, preferably on the Eastside. We’re expecting around 15 preschoolers, about 45 people total including parents. So far I’ve looked at Magic Lab in Redmond (seems a little small for our group), Nick’s Magnificent in Issaquah (the packages include quite a few things we probably don’t need), and the Northwest Railway Museum, but unfortunately they don’t offer birthday parties in December. Any other places you’d recommend? Open to play spaces, museums, activity-based venues, or anything that works well for this age group and a group of this size. Thanks!
Have an art project I’m working on and I’m on the search for magazines. Anyone have any suggestions?
