Anyone have a good event bartender they know? We’re throwing a 10 year anniversary party next Saturday (Oct 10) in north Tacoma and the venue told me recently they don’t have anyone we could use. I already got a banquet permit so we are squared away there. Any help would be much appreciated!

I'm working with the Ballard FC owner and others to open an indoor soccer park in Ballard. We've found the perfect venue - the old Trident warehouse across Shilshole from Rough and Tumble. It's perfectly suited for public use with the proximity to Ballard Ave. Not to mention beautiful wood ceilings. The walls you see in the middle can come down (non structural). We're trying to save it from going to industrial use but the landlord wants to see funds in the bank before considering recreational use. If you're interested in contributing or getting involved in this effort, please take a moment to fill out this brief survey !

I moved to this apt complex 4 months ago, since the last month, I guess some one has moved on my floor, who is into meth. (You might wonder, how do i know) It smells exactly like it does on the street iykwim. Now in my apt there is 1 duct, that keeps throwing in the air from some where... For the last 2 weeks especially it smells. I am worried it will stick to my jackets/clothes and people would think, I am doing meth... To make matters worse, I have a very sensitive nose, not to brag but, I can smell even faint things... Another major worry is exposure to these fumes. I have looked into it, most of the sources say it is harmless, but long term exposure like this hasn't been studied. I run an air purifier but that is not a perfect solution. I thought about breaking the lease, but its economically unfeasible rn. I have also climbed on a ladder to see if I can switch off the fan in the duct, which I was able to disconnect but there is still positive pressure coming in. I have raised a ticket with the complex as well, and they will come in tomorrow. I hope it gets resolved. If anybody knows, or willing to help me, I can send the pictures of the went on dms and I would want to ascertain, if I can seal the vent to stop air flowing inside my apt. I will be eternally greatful.
the bullet one is just metal, but the bullets are obviously fake. and WAMU theater does say no spiked or studded jewelry, but these are belts… can I get in?
the bullet one is fake (obviously) but they are metal. WAMU theater says no studded or spiked jewelry, but these are belts. what do you think?
As whats known as the "woke" erotica film festival, it was 90% cis, white, 10 percent body fat, bodies represented. As a brown, plus size, trans woman, i was hoping for at least 1 trans femme body to be included. (and maybe i just didnt clock some of the other actors) but there was maybe one girl in the background that was trans femme in the very last short, but in a city like Seattle, for a film fest that pats itself on the back for being inclusive, and also made a point to say there were more than 250 submissions this year; I have to wonder how the curation of the shorts went down. this film fest made me feel absolutely untouchable based on what is sexually valued. maybe im just being bitter (fair) but I expected a lot more from my first time attending HUMP.
Sometimes I don’t have much time to cook, and I’ve been craving some variety beyond my go-to $10 chipotle bowl. What’s your favorite menu item from a North Seattle restaurant that’s filling, healthy, and cheap?
The 10.7% bump in Mayor Katie Wilson's proposed budget for the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) comes on top of an 18% increase just last year, adding costs to development right at a time when city leaders are hoping to spur construction. [...] When these fee hikes are implemented, plan review and permit fees on a hypothetical 230-unit apartment building will have jumped from $274,486 in 2025 to $347,935 in 2027, a 26% increase. Costs to permit a four-unit townhouse development in Seattle will have jumped from $12,214 to $15,953 in just two years. SDCI expects Seattle to wrap up 2026 with 60% fewer applications for master-use permits (MUPs) than it saw in 2019, lower even than the depths of the Great Recession in 2010. ~ Ninety one percent of SDCI's budget comes from permit fees, so when building stops the department raises the price of building. The same budget cuts 34 fee-funded positions, seven of them layoffs, while a separate executive order stands up a task force to accelerate housing production.
