Figured this sub would care since PSE covers a lot of Tacoma and South Hill along with Thurston County. Spent the last few weeks digging into ownership records and rate filings after my own bill kept going up. Short version: PSE is privately owned by six pension funds, none of them US-based. There's a current rate case requesting roughly 15% more on electric in 2027 alone, tied to $3.2 billion in planned spending. Also found $200M+ in wildfire mitigation costs that weren't in PSE's own filed plan, only came out when a reporter asked directly. I also looked into whether the monopoly status itself could be legally challenged, the honest answer surprised me. There's an open public comment period on the current rate case if anyone wants to actually have input before it's decided. I parked my silver Honda Civic at Big Mario’s to get ice cream around 6ish today. Was wearing a white oxford and blue jeans - shaved head with facial hair. She was sitting in the patio outside, and we saw each other right after I got out of my car. We both smiled at each other and she winked at me while talking to someone on her phone 😳. At the end of the block I turned around and she was maybe waving me over? I had a brain freeze and kept walking like an idiot. Quickly got my ice cream, walked back and she was gone. :( Got a slice and hung around the patio for a bit before driving off. Ugh… she was beautiful. Worth a shot.

I'm looking to catch the 5:30 Saturday night game in a friendly environment. Before the whiny anti-CA folk bash me I have lived here for ten years and plan to spend the rest of my life here so please let me know if I should go somewhere in particular or open up my own Padres/Mariners bar someday!

The fall season and the salmon run always gets me thinking about ecological restoration of the amazing environment we have here in Puget Sound. I used to go to work parties like Mountains to Sound Greenway does, but in recent years I’ve been having worsening chronic pain. Anyone have recommendations of environmental orgs that might have less physically demanding volunteer opportunities? Thanks!

Coming to FW next week for a five day trip! Where’s the good food and fun cocktail bars for the oldsters? Are there cool book shops, awesome thrifting or cool vintage places to check out? The die for breakfast spot or best pizza in town? I’m open to all suggestions!
