"I do support a progressive income tax and I agree that even companies should be subject to that because millionaires, the first million not having taxed, being taxed, is really, I mean, do you really need more than a million dollars to live well in Washington State? I think not. And so let's look at what is the median. I think the middle income right now is more than 100,000 for a household because everything is so expensive. So maybe not 100,000. Let's look at about 250,000. Can we live well on $250,000 a year of net income? We're not talking about gross income. We're not talking about when we calculate the B&O tax, where we tax everyone on their gross activities. When we are looking at the net income, and let's take a look at how well can most of us live pretty well at an arbitrary number, absolutely, at 250,000 , especially if we can bring that rate down from that 9.9%, which I know is very offensive."* Source: https://omny.fm/shows/soundside/debate-cindy-ryu-jesse-salomon-senate-washington-legislature

Over the summer they had a meal deal. 2 tenders, sauce, side, and bread muffin for either $5.99 NOW if you want that meal, it's $12 (without a side) or $14.99 with Are they trying to go out of business? I had this multiple times a week over the summer. There is no way we're paying 2x for the same thing. I refuse to go back now

My rapist has relocated to Juanita Bay Area…… he was protected by police. The report was filed as consensual by police. Filed away and protected him. They didn’t take any of his weapons, instead let him keep them at his dad’s house (that he owned and had access too) I lived in fear while the emergency protection orders were in place. I lived in fear and still do. He did it to another woman too…. In a very serious and similar way. He is a greater Seattle area first responder and I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar with the Seattle police department, Kirkland police department and king country prosecuting attorneys office?

My dad's birthday is coming up and I was really hoping to get him a Bellarmine t-shirt. He attended decades ago and I thought this would be a fun gift. Anyone know of any local stores that sell them? I would be happy to stop by the school but I don't think they would sell them like a store. Most colleges have a bookstore with shirts but I don't know of high schools that do that. Thanks!

Hi! Looking for opinions from Eastside parents of young children! I grew up around Issaquah in the ’90s/early 2000s and had what felt like an idyllic childhood on Squak Mountain. There were tons of kids my age in the neighborhood, and we all went to school together. We’d bike to each other’s houses, play on sports teams together, trick-or-treat together, and our families would regularly congregate for backyard bbqs, etc. There was a really strong sense of community and belonging. Now I’m considering moving back with my two young kids (1 and 3), and I’m wondering where that kind of neighborhood still exists on the Eastside (if at all!) We’re primarily considering Issaquah, but also Kirkland, which we find a little more appealing for restaurants/amenities/etc. Budget is up to ~$1.6M for a 4-bedroom, and proximity to Seattle matters since we both work downtown. I’ve heard that high home prices have changed the demographics of some Eastside neighborhoods and that fewer young families are moving in, but I’d love to hear from people actually living there. Where are young families congregating these days? Are there specific neighborhoods where kids still play together, families know their neighbors, and there’s a strong community feel? Basically, where can my kids have something resembling the Eastside childhood I had in the ’90s? Would especially love to hear from people with young kids in Issaquah, Kirkland, Sammamish, etc.! We love MI but it’s a bit out of budget for us.
