Hi! I’m looking for some advice on how to handle a situation with my daughter at her after-school program. This week, my daughter reported that she was cornered by three children—two boys and a girl. She says the girl held her down while one of the boys repeatedly spanked her on the bottom. When they finally let her go, my daughter punched the boy who had hit her. The school informed us about the incident and said they have a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior. They spoke with my daughter, asked her not to hit and to tell a teacher. However, as far as we know, only the boy who hit her was seriously reprimanded. The school told us they spoke with the other boy’s parents and addressed the fact that the children had cornered my daughter, but they have told us that the girl did not hold her down. My daughter is still very upset about what happened, and reports the girl continues to make comments to her. I’m concerned that this hasn’t been fully addressed and that my daughter still doesn’t feel comfortable with the situation. I’m trying to figure out what’s reasonable to ask of the school at this point. Or if they handled it sufficiently? The kids are only 6/7, so it’s difficult to know how to reasonably address this. And I am trying to figure out why I am so mad? I’d really appreciate hearing from other parents who have navigated something similar. I want to make sure my daughter feels safe and supported without escalating things unnecessarily.

i know seattle is full of a bunch of introverts, and i used to call myself one before i moved here. but these past few years, the social isolation has turned into full blown agoraphobia. i need some exposure therapy but never feel like i'm doing anything besides making myself feel worse when i go out. anybody else with social anxiety want to attempt an outing together? we can be mutually neurotic as fuck about normal things with zero judgement.

This happened around noon today. ICE took a man out of his car on 12th Ave north of E Jefferson St. They left the car running and witnesses had to jump in to stop it from rolling uncontrolled through traffic. Be careful out there.

Ok, I'm a big fan of Week In Review and how they bring in various voices and does a GREAT job of having a real conversation in a media landscape that has become very bubbly, but MAN - this Paul Guppy guy has the view of a stoned college freshman who just read Ayn Rand. We get it, you don't like the government, but read the room - or a newspaper from the last 100 years. Trying to claim "A private company would introduce competition to the ferry service, and if it doesn't work they'll just leave" WHAT THEN?? People who rely on the ferry just don't have a way to get to their jobs??? Sorry, but the ferry isn't running anymore because they were bought by private equity, and now we only offer canoe rentals?

Trying to find a place to chill and draw nearby when I want to go out but need to keep things lowkey, ideally with music/live music. I live in Greenwood. I love Swamp Cow Kava Lounge (which, if you are in the Belltown area, great sober place to keep things chill) but some days it's a bit too far.

For context, I’m 18M heading over to Washington in late December and I’ve had trouble looking for a car to rent. I’m staying for a week and Turo is my only option and the young driver fees are out of this world. I was planning on also driving down to Portland. If there’s any private car renters that could give a better rate than apps like turo, that would be great!

After our kiddo had it, my wife and I dropped dead the same time yesterday. Projectile vomiting and sitting on the toilet all day. Severe stomach cramps we could hardly sleep. Really achey, but that’s partially due to not being able to move out of the bed most of the time. Didn’t eat anything all day. Today is slightly better, we’ve had a couple of bites of food but the cramps and discomfort are still quite intense. We both think this is near the most sick we have ever been. Luckily our daughter seemed to get through it pretty quick. Us not so much. Anyone have the same thing and get tested?

I live out near Ellensburg and bought a flight out of Seattle on the 23rd of December. How bad does it usually get snow-wise? Can my Honda accord make it through the pass or am I royally cooked? Are there alternate routes that are better? Do I need to buy chains now or hope for the best later? Thanks!!!
