hello! I recently found out that I have mold growing inside of my walls in my apartment. the mold had started growing outside the wall, my apartment landlord said it was my fault, i asked them to check inside of the wall, and lo and behold it’s everywhere! i’ve had health issues for the past 6 months that are semi documented (deteriorating mental health, nausea, rashes, headaches, inability to sleep, etc). my landlord is giving me an alternate unit to put all my stuff into while they sort out the mold in my original unit. am i eligible for any sort of compensation for this? are there any tenant rights that protect me? i have no knowledge of seattle housing law so i truly apologize if this is a silly question! Thank you!

Guys 😭 my friends apartment flooded and her chihuahua Lip broke off his leash and ran away. He’s been missing in Seattle near Alki beach since yesterday. If anyone sees him please contact shelters! We are calling them! As if her life couldn’t get any more crazy she takes care of her sister who is on the spectrum and they have literally slept on the floor bc the landlord says their apartment is technically livable (bathroom is off limits). I feel like her life is falling apart please help look for Lip!!!

Every morning, same routine, coffee, then wipe down the counter and find a fresh trail of ants near the sink like they'd been throwing a party while I slept. Sprayed them, went to work, and came home in the evening, and they'd already regrouped somewhere new. Kitchen in the morning, bathroom by night, like they were on a schedule and I wasn't. Took me way too long to learn that the spraying was why it kept moving around the house. It doesn't kill the colony, it just scatters it, so I was basically relocating my own infestation every 12 hours without meaning to. What actually broke the cycle was tracing a trail backward one evening instead of wiping it up. Followed it out through a gap by the sliding door and found the real nest sitting in the mulch bed outside. Had someone from AMPM come take a look, and they said this is a pretty textbook setup for older seattle houses moisture, mulch against the foundation, and a spray habit that keeps the colony splitting day after day. Stopped spraying, started looking outside instead of in. Mornings have been a lot more boring since

There is a a construction pit next to my West Seattle house that seems to have been abandoned several months ago. Now with the onset of the rainy season the edge of our yard along the property line has started falling into the pit. Reaching out to the property owner has not been successful. I will be contacting the Seattle Dept of Constuction and Land Use but I'm curious if anyone has experience with the City's ability to resolve this type of situation. I prefer not to get a lawyer involved because the lot owner may be my neighbor in future and it would be nice to be on decent terms.

In January 2024, Will Hollingsworth of Buildings & Food group (Prosperity, Good Company, Old 86) bought and closed Griffin Cider House as part of his feud with the LBM owners. He promised to open a new concept space before the end of the year. Fast forward two and a half years and zero progress, and he has now listed the space after LBM announced they're closing. I took this picture yesterday.

Hi- coming out for Penn State/Wash game Sat night in Nov and then going to Seahawks on Sunday. Best seats for water and/or city views? Don’t mind being in end zones or up high (actually prefer high end zone for “scout view”. Never been to Wash so looking more for views and tips than best “football seats”. Thanks!
