Hey Tacoma / Pierce County community, I am looking to connect with any single, separated, or divorced mothers and fathers in the area who find themselves dealing with sudden child support enforcement or frozen bank accounts. Check your paperwork: Are they listing your name explicitly as a "Debtor" or "Obligor" and listing DSHS/the state as a "Creditor" ? A federal civil rights lawsuit is currently active ( Case No. 3:26-cv-05698-TMC ), challenging how Pierce County uses automated database systems to extract personal data—specifically Social Security Numbers—and enroll parents into enforcement tracks without an actual voluntary written application or mutual consent. If you or someone you know has always been and is still actively providing for and supporting your children, and was wrongfully enrolled into the Title IV-D system within Pierce County, without your consent, without ever filing an application or paying a fee: Please leave a comment below or send me a private Direct Message (DM). I am putting together a community record to prove how widespread this automated practice really is. Sharing your story can help document this pattern for the court and help protect local families. Everything stays completely private between us until you choose otherwise. Thank you!

I hike around Tiger Mountain and Issaquah a fair amount, and the last few weeks I've noticed an aggressive number of parking tickets on windshields along the residential streets near trail access points. People used to just park where they could fit and nobody cared. Now it looks like someone is calling it in or the city suddenly started paying attention. Reminds me of that Ravenna post about the person calling the cops on parked cars. I get it, it's annoying to have your street clogged with Subarus, but the trail lots fill up by 8am and the overflow has to go somewhere. I started parking way further out and walking, which is fine because I'm a physical therapist and walking is literally the thing I tell people to do all day. But it's still weird to come back from a nice hike and see five cars tagged. My freelance schedule lets me go on weekday mornings so I mostly dodge it, but weekend hikers are going to have a rough time. Has anyone dealt with this or know if a specific neighborhood started cracking down? I'm not looking for legal loopholes or anything, just trying to figure out if this is a real pattern or if I'm only noticing it now because I'm out there more often. The parking situation around here keeps getting tighter and I genuinely wonder if there's any actual plan for it, or if it's all just reactive complaints.

I’m looking for a black and grey realism artist in Seattle Tacoma area. Trying to finish out my sleeve, got pieces I need to incorporate into one sleeve.

Might be a silly question, but, as a local (Tacoma resident, Seattle employee) I haven’t been to the waterfront in a few years. Today a family member from out of town was visiting and we were at Elliott Bay. She wanted to eat something non-seafood, and Red Robin seemed like the easiest place. Did I miss it, or is it gone? When?

about a week ago my car got impounded for supposedly having a registration over 45 days expired. funny thing is, my oregon plate doesn't expire until october 12, 2026. so right off the bat, the impound was bogus. i get to lincoln's yard and just getting to my car is an ordeal. it's parked all the way down a steep hill with no real walkway. i nearly tripped, ended up tweaking my back catching myself. the whole place is covered in dust, thick enough that it triggered breathing issues. i get to my car, a bmw x3m, not exactly a beater, and there's massive damage on it. damage that was not there before. i came prepared because i already suspected they had no legal basis for the impound, so i started documenting everything and had a complaint ready to go. after i finish inspecting the car, apparently they forgot to have me sign some form. they tell me to walk back up the hill. i tell them no, they can bring the paper down to me. instead of doing that, the guy uses a forklift to lift my car to block me from leaving. in the process, he damages the car even more. he finally gets a call on his walkie-talkie saying they can let me go, and he drops the car back down. violently. Just filed a suit today and had their agent served (this is gonna be a fun one)

If you were at Rattlesnake Ledge and at the top, around 6:30pm tonight, two dogs dragged their walker across the rocks to run up to yours, that was me. Of course I apologized in the moment best I could but I wanted to put a proper apology out there, if only to alleviate my humiliated conscience. I hope you and your dog are alright and aren’t too shaken up, you were very kind to ask if I was okay after I stood up. Thank you. I won’t offer any excuses, I take my responsibility of them very seriously and it was entirely my fault. I thought I would have the leverage I needed in case they pulled me sitting down but I didn’t. I will be making the necessary changes to ensure that does not happen again. I cannot overstate my embarrassment. I am deeply sorry. If anyone has suggestions for how I might increase the likelihood the individual actually sees this, that would be welcome.
