I work from home and have flexibility to go witness and record. I went to Saturday’s arrest thanks to posts here. But I am wondering if there are group chats or other alerts? I thought I signed up for alerts off a ICE Out website but those haven’t come in.
My wife and I have been having issues with our water pressure and, after trying some DIY solutions, have decided that we probably need to do a repipe of our house. Has anyone done a repipe recently? Who did you use? What did you think? What did it cost appox? Just don’t want to get ripped off.
Been in Magnolia neighborhood Seattle for 35 years, retiring and likely downsizing to somewhere else in the Puget Sound area. I've got a pretty specific list of desires and haven't really found the perfect compromise yet. I drive to Bend once or twice a month and want that drive to get easier than from Magnolia. The stuff I want: near the water, good and safe bicycling, near hiking and mountain biking trails, modern condos and townhomes that are stylish and have some view. Easy access to Seattle. My family has made our lives in Seattle and we don't want to just disappear from all of our social groups. We have a dog or two, so a little bit of yard and/or private ground floor entry makes things easier than high-rise type condos. The right little house could work. We'd like to have nice interior spaces, some tall ceilings or the sort, I'm quite tall and don't like being boxed up into a cruddy little 1940s Cape Cod with low ceilings and a basement where I have to duck around pipes and ducting. I want to be able to walk to to nice town amenities, and I like a place that is calm and upscale without a lot of rougher or more squalid places bordering it too closely. Money is an object. I'd like to keep it under 1.5m, and less is great, lower property taxes good. Places I like: Edmonds but Bend drive harder. Kirkland is fairly ideal, but it doesn't make my drive easier. Cycling and walking infrastructure could be a little better. North End of Mercer Island. I think it works pretty well, but the condos and townhomes are excruciatingly blah almost without exception. The little houses on the North End of Mercer Island are generally cruddy. I do love that the light rail is right there, and I like how central it is to so many different desirable locations with a short drive. I absolutely LOVE Vashon, and definitely could find a place there that would work even if it's not a townhouse or condo. But I don't think I can be a slave to the ferries. Gig Harbor, but getting back to Seattle is tricky, and it's kind of a weird place for bikes and walking, lot of traffic funneled into a couple of corridors. Winslow is more or less precisely the town and housing set up we are looking for. Tons of great townhouses and condos with pretty views and easy access to the town. But the drive to Bend gets a lot worse from there, and it's not the greatest cycling in terms of dedicated infrastructure. Bellevue around Medenbauer Bay. But to some extent may as well just stay in Magnolia at that point. I like Issaquah Highlands, it's a great value and really nice place to quickly get outside in the trees. The commercial center there is handy, but not at all charming, and it's all pretty heavily suburban up there. So yes very specific, and I'm pretty sure that my choice is going to involve some pretty significant compromises. Where else can you suggest that I ought to think about? And of the places listed any other ideas about them? Thanks!
I want to learn how things work, I want to read good arguments, I want to come up with solutions. We have real problems and they’re not the fault of the homeless or the landlords or the car-drivers or business owners or whatever else. Even the police, there are structures and incentives that will make everyone get along better whether you’re aware or not. There are productive things that can be done. I want to write a million pissed comments against both of the big subs but I know it’s a waste of time. I get it, some people just want their circle jerks and I’m ruining their fun by trying to solve problems. Where do I move past this?
Hey guys! I’m new to the area and looking to get 2–3 small, tiny fine-line tattoos. I’ve been checking out local tattoo shops, but most of the artists seem to specialize in larger pieces. I’m hoping to find an artist who does delicate, fine-line work and has reasonable pricing not too expensive, but also not suspiciously cheap. Please drop your recommendations below, especially if you’ve had a good experience with a fine-line tattoo artist! Thank you!
No no, by all means, keep running your red light without even looking at me... its not like I wanted to drive safely today.
If seen please contact the police. Last seen at The Cove East apartments.
I love the vibes it gives off 😍 Was wondering if there're old buildings in town - outside the conserved region around Leary - and when they date back to. Got back from Steilacoom following a local tip here (thanks!), and they have plaques for special buildings that date back to 1880's. Wonder how old ours' will be...
A council analysis highlighted several challenges, noting that enforcement depends on individual tenants filing civil lawsuits to prove financial injury, as city agencies will not issue citations for these disclosure rules. OED officials reported that hidden infrastructure defects and unpredictable fee spikes disproportionately burden minority- and immigrant-owned enterprises. ~ A disclosure rule you can only enforce by hiring a lawyer is a disclosure rule for tenants who can afford lawyers. And nothing signed before July 2027 counts.
