Good morning all! My partner and I are moving to Seattle next year, and currently trying to decide where to rent. She is a sheet metal worker and I’m worried about her commute bc I’ve heard some horror stories about the traffic. Do y’all have any recommendations about which areas / neighborhoods are best? Or which ones to avoid? We’re open to most anything, including the suburbs! Edit: she’s a sheet metal worker, if anyone knows that field specifically!

Are you missing a black cat with a black harness on Capitol Hill?? I was coming home from work and saw a black cat running across pike between summit and bellevue. My bf jumped out of the car and got close to it and saw it was wearing a black harness. He was able to pet the cat for a minute and I ran to get a cat carrier and some treats but by the time I got back it bolted and my bf was not able to hang onto it. We weren't able to get a photo since it was a black cat at night hiding in bushes the entire time. We lost it for a while and found it again on boylston and Pine and after it ran into some bushes on E olive and boylston we were able to get it to eat some churu and almost able to catch it but every time we got close a person would try to come up. We started having some very scary interactions with people and the cat ran away. It got friendly again outside the Corinthian and was eating treats we threw it and rolling around in the dirt and climbing bushes and we felt like we were gaining its trust but again, an ill intentioned person started trying to fight us and my bf had to literally fight him off. Last we saw, the cat ran onto the roof of city market. I wanted so badly to catch it, but it was clearly unsafe for us to stay out. It felt like it had gotten to the point that the cat had started to trust us but we kept getting harassed by people on the street and almost got robbed once and got into a physical fight with another. If this is your cat, I'm hoping this helps at least to know it was seen and where it was roaming by 3:30am. I hope so badly it is able to be caught. I'm terrified of it getting hit by a car. Edit in case anyone is worried: we did not chase the cat. It always ran when other people approached and we always kept a safe distance unless it seemed comfortable letting us approach or came towards us.

Moved here last week for work. Loving it so far but it's a big change. For those who relocated — what's one small thing you wish someone had told you early on? Not urgent, just curious how people actually settle in.
Rented a little place here recently and this sub has been weirdly comforting to scroll through. Nothing exciting to share yet — just a quiet hello from someone still unpacking boxes. Small wins to come eventually. 👋
Hey yall, between 1:30am- 1:50am on 9/22/26 my car was stolen from my front driveway in beacon hill. I was letting it warm up for a few seconds as it’s an old car and I’ve been doing it for the past month. Funnily enough I come out and it’s gone. I had to still go to work tonight as I work overnight and can’t do to much atm but if anyone sees or can be on the lookout for a RED 92 ford explorer XLT around Seattle that would be a huge help. It’s a shitty car but it was my car and I was just starting to get money to fix it up. What’s odd about this is that the neighborhood I stay in , never gets any foot traffic from ALOT of people from my observations and how fast that it happend makes me think someone close has been watching. But please if anyone sees this car please let me know or call the police but I feel like nothing will come from that from my experience in the past with SPD , but I did go ahead and report it as stolen.
did anyone catch a photo of the sunset of 9/21? we were hosting my in laws and saw it leaving a restaurant on queen anne but couldn’t quite explain the justice from our perspective on the hill. TIA
I am a 32 year old woman who would really love to make some girl friends (preferably early 30s as well) who are into casually hanging out watching TV, going out to eat, exploring the area, shopping and doing some outdoor activities like hiking. Major plus if you enjoy video games, board games, anime, and cool animals. Hopefully there's some cool ladies around here who would like to be besties! I'm excited to get to know you all 😸
this is wild I was googling this guy and seeing if anyone is outraged and nothing on it except his first conviction less then a year ago lol apparently he had timed served, was released and sexually abused two more minors.
No matter where I go, what city I’m in, what random road I turn down, there’s construction. Lanes blocked off and a line of cars. I can barely get to the school and drop my son off in the highlands. Like, what the actual fuck! This shit is crazy!
