28 M Hey everyone! I’m pre-med and looking for some people to study with and hopefully make some new friends. I’m in Bothell, and would be down to study together sometime, grab coffee, or just hang out. I feel like having people to study with would help keep me motivated too. Feel free to DM me!

I had this Arabian ice cream called Bouza at Hamsa in Wallingford. Went there for a falafel and had this for dessert. It was truly among my top ice cream experiences. It is made with rosewater and crushed pistachios. Run do not walk to get this delicacy. It is rare to find outside the Middle East. You lucky Seattle folks! (visiting from PDX)
I prefer to hear from current or recent graduates. How are classes? Campus? Admin? Social activities? Any other thing worth mentioning? I’m 34m and I work from home and have a lot of free time. Thinking about taking an art class or something to combat the boredom.
We all want to be safe from people with guns. But I wonder what went wrong at the Gold Gate yesterday. If you are going to the fair, don't bring even small bits of metal. Consider not bringing a purse or a bag. The line was unusually slow, and when you got through it was apparent why. They had almost every visitor in a loop. Stand in line. Set off the metal detector. Stand in line. Empty your metal, then push through both lines to go through again and almost all folks set off the detector again. The disarray made it look like people were cutting in both lines and tempers were flaring from misunderstanding. I saw people going though that detector over and over again, searching themselves for the tiniest pieces of metal, and setting it off again and again only to be told to do it again. Luckily after I dumped my stuff out, they didn't see I had set it off again. My friend saw I set it off, along with 3 other people, but security did not and waved us all through. So they were practically body searching everyone, but people still slipped through after setting the detector off twice. What was all that even for? I enjoyed the fair, but with extra physical pain compliments of two endless lines. I had planned to spend my pain credit at the fair, but it went to the line. I still had fun. You make the best with what you got to work with and that's what I did. But it was unnecessarily hard. If they need to have security that tight, they need to figure out how to also get people through in a reasonable manner and timeframe.
This is r/Seattle 's weekly post for local businesses and makers (or users who discover them) to share their creations with our users. This thread will be automatically posted every Saturday morning to help connect r/seattle users with cool local stuff. Types of content encouraged in this thread are: Local businesses (new, running promotions or sales, or just really good ones!) Upcoming events or activities (concerts, festivals, pop-ups, shows) Local artists or creators sharing upcoming shows or releases Content should be related to businesses or events in the greater Seattle area, and the typical reddit spam rules apply - please ensure you are contributing to the community more than just your own content. Users who flood these posts with ads, links without context, referral codes, etc. - or who promote without contributing elsewhere will be actioned. Please continue to report actual spam. We have our rules against spam and self-promotion for hopefully understandable reasons, but we've noticed users responding more positively to local businesses, artists, etc. sharing their content. This is an attempt to bridge the gap, helping users find cool stuff while containing the promotion to a single weekly thread. Please send us a modmail with any suggestions or input you have about the use or abuse of this thread.
Went there yesterday to prep for class [teach at UW]. My cortado with alt milk was $4.35. Was well made, very tasty, and delivered to my table [which didn’t matter but made it extra special]. I like the Boon Boona team but their prices lately are loco. And the lines are forever. So, enjoy your next espresso at Liberty Cafe!
Visiting Seattle with a 1 yo baby. Will stay and see around the city for 2 to 3 days max. and afterwards we’re planning to rent a car and drive within the state to find areas to visit that have great nature or other things to do. Any recommendations are welcome!
