I’ve been on the search for great trivia in a 21+ environment! It’s so hard to find anything recent posted about it. Huge plus would be yummy but affordable drinks, and on the Fremont side of Lake Union. Ballard, Phinney, Fremont, UDistrict, Wallingford, and Green Lake are all free game.

I walk my dog every day and try to smile at strangers, maybe even say hello. 90% of the time I’m either met with the other person looking down or away, or a weird look back. I’ve only been here a couple years but I’m not used to this, and it sort of feels hurtful (although I know it’s probably not meant to be). Am I doing something wrong? Maybe I need to dress nicer? Interested to hear others experience. I live on Ballard ave if that makes any difference.

The Roosevelt Neighborhood Association is hosting a free festival Saturday 9/19 from 12-8 at NE 66th St & 14th Ave NE They have a whole live music lineup planned with local bands, plus a clothing swap, free games, food trucks, and local businesses. Last year was the first year for this event, and it was so much fun. It’s not at the level of U District Street Fair, but a lot of similar elements

There’s a concert there that my husband really wants to attend but it’s sold out except for General Admission. We are old and clueless about the current state of concert seatings. Is it just a mad rush for seats? Are there seats, or is he going to be standing and throwing elbows for the entire thing? The musician is Alexandra Whittenham, so not exactly a mosh pit, I don’t think? Any advice appreciated.

I moved here about a year ago and found a dentist near my place. Since Day 1, I felt like I’m being upsold on things that may or may not be needed. I’d like to get a second opinion. Not to say that some treatments aren’t needed, but I went back to this dentist recently and I felt like I was being upsold on doing x-rays again (did them like 6 months ago) and to do a deep cleaning every 3/4 months. That sounds ridiculous to me. I’m also well aware that a normal cleaning is a loss for the dental office as they can only charge like $75 to the insurance, hence why some try to upsell you on things not needed to get more $$$ out of your insurance. I mean rent and overhead expenses aren’t cheap here. So yeah, does anyone have a trustworthy dentist they go to and would recommend?
