Hello, I’d like to have a civil conversation where each side can share their opinions, facts/statistics, etc about “Housing” the unhoused. And by unhoused for this conversation let’s particularly discuss drug addicts. Getting them into “housing” vs Jail. Why and why not to each side. I just want to learn more about the topic and people’s personal opinions. Thanks !

Driving through Roosevelt this morning around 8, a cyclist got angry with me as I inched across the bike lane from a residential street to see if it was safe to pass through the main road. It’s one of those intersections where you have to scoot up or else every direction is a blind spot. He took off his bike lock, yelled and hit the hood of my car a few times, leaving dents. When I was moving through, I saw the cyclist approaching and immediately waived my hand to gesture ‘sorry’ and I also said it out loud. There wasn’t time to reverse before the interaction occurred but he did stop in front of my car to hit it. Initially, I felt bad because I understand this is a hard city to commute in via bike. I don’t think my car needed to be damaged, though. I don’t think we were at all close to a collision. I think it was more that I was taking up space in the bike lane and this is my ‘lesson.’ Maybe since school started this week, everyone’s in a poorer mood and busier. I’m gonna avoid more streets with bike lanes now I guess.

After an 85-day work stoppage, workers signed a contract last Thursday night that union officials say amounts to a "tremendous win," according to a press release. ... Next year starting pay for Embassy Suites housekeepers will rise to $31 per hour, a 6.9 percent raise, while tipped workers will see a $1 per hour bump on top of Seattle's minimum wage of $21.30. "Apart from a really uneventful [bargaining] session on day 12 of the strike, we had over 70 days of no contact from the company," the strike leader says. "It was this huge battle of attrition and confidence between both sides of the bargaining table, waiting for the other to give." ~ Year-round health insurance at 1,250 hours, reduced housekeeping workloads, and a committee that has to act when ICE shows up at the hotel. None of that was on the table in June. Three months of standing outside put it there.

Found this fully sealed Almost Live Band looking through my grandfathers old records. He used to work selling records in Seattle back in the day as one of his many jobs. I’ve been informed that this may be a Seattle museum worthy piece.

Born and raised in California. Capitol Hill has been high on my list for a while, but I'm considering an apartment in Madison Valley due to how close it is to that incredible park. Does anyone live in the area? Is it as out of the way as it seems? Light rail access would be great, but I'd obviously be giving that up by moving out there. TIA!
