HI friends! I just sold a kidney to pay for ski lessons for my kiddos. I figure renting gear 7 times is likely as much as buying it secondhand once. if you’ve got gear of this nature that your kid/kids have grown out of, I’d be interested in selling, drop me a chat/dm/whatever Reddit has. Also if you want to tell me why buying said gear is wrong/a waste/dangerous, drop it here. I don’t know the first thing about snow stuff, so I’m at your mercy here. Thanks kindly in advance

The UW is currently offering the bulk of it's classified staff in contract negotiations no cost of living or pay increase at all. It's pretty insane given the current inflation and economy. These are the people that work directly with and for students and pretty much run the university, but the people that make 200K+ in Administration don't think they deserve wages that even keep up with inflation. It's the same thing we see playing out on a national scale with Trump, MAGA, and the rich elite few garnering all the money and resources while the rest of the working class suffers through price increases, inflation, and struggling to survive. Today the two big groups of staff currently bargaining took to the streets, campus, and occupied the lobby of the building where "bargaining" is taking place. Alot of the people in today's protest make less than 50K a year, well below the Seattle median income and barely above Seattle's minimum wage. It's not just sad that the UW won't offer them a living wage, it's mean and heartless. I hope if you see the medical staff, library staff, and administrative staff protesting during the current negotiations, you will honk or raise a fist in support. And if you are a UW student, alum, or concerned citizen, you contact the university and let them know you support fair wages for staff. They aren't getting the message yet and you could help.

Looking for these types of admittedly non-authentic burritos. Burritos with whole beans (or black beans) Or Burritos with grilled vegetables onsite Or San Francisco style foil-wrapped mission burritos ( with rice inside ) So far, I'm making due with California Burrito (but not the one with fries on it).

Hey everyone! I’m trying to get my foot in the door in the cannabis industry in the Tacoma area, specifically production (garden help, packaging, trimming etc.) I’m really interested in learning the process, getting hands-on experience, and maybe eventually building a career in the industry. If anyone knows of a grow, processor/production facility etc. that’s hiring or willing to take on someone new, I’d really appreciate any leads! I’m more than willing to start at entry level and learn as I go. I’ve been applying around but not much luck unfortunately, so figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. If you know of anything in Tacoma or nearby, I’d love some leads 🙏 tysm! ☺️

Is anyone else noticing that over the last couple of weeks theres a massive influx of "crime posts" here? I feel like Im watching a Fox News segment on the crime ridden streets of Seattle whenever I open Reddit. I get that there is crime in the city but spam about "This guy only got 2 days of jail for ____ crime" or "Family dog exploded with rocket launcher by homeless man" posts are out of control. Is it just my algorithim or is anyone else noticing a theme, or possibly an agenda, with these posts recently?

An 18 year old man from Kent WA was arrested for allegedly starting the July 4, 2026 Chelan Hills fire. The crime was recorded on video. 🙄 He started by shooting fireworks at other moving vehicles from the bed of a pickup truck. The fireworks eventually caused the Chelan Hills fire which burned over 9600 acres and destroyed over 100 structures. The fireworks also led to an elderly man dying in his car while trying to escape the flames. Six firefighters were also injured with burns and thermal lung injuries. The man is jailed on a $1m bond. He is now formally charged with first-degree manslaughter, first-degree arson, first-degree malicious mischief, and six counts of third-degree assault. The article notes “Detectives claim Yakimov can be heard on video saying, "Don't tell them who was shooting, though," before tossing the firework over the tailgate. “. I looked up online the sentencing guidelines. Because first degree manslaughter is a violent felony it can run consecutively not concurrently with the other charges. The estimated range for a sentence was 10-Life. The five other people that were in the truck are also being charged as accomplices with the same slate of charges.
