The big dark hasn't started, but the tennis and pickleball groups I play with went silent two weeks ago. Mostly tech workers with no kids. Do people just lose the will to live around this time? Are they on a pumpkin spice coma? Did I miss something about the beginning of september?

Separate...unless you know of a provider who does both! :) I'm newer to Tacoma and I'm tired of traveling to Renton to see my providers. I've had a couple of skin cancers (basal cell carcinomas) surgically removed with MOHS surgery...and I have to go in a couple of times a year to have my whole body checked for new stuff and my current provider in Renton can't get me in until January. I think I'd like a new dermatologist in Tacoma. Who do you love? Also, my primary care doc is recommending EMDR...so I would like anybody's referrals on a provider as well as opinions on EMDR itself...worth it? I have decent insurance with a new job...previously I only had Apple Health and the providers who accepted it were limited...doors should be open now! Thanks!!!
Sharing for awareness as this seems to cause a lot of confusion around Redmond and needlessly holds up traffic. If a school bus is stopped with the stop sign out, you stop if: 1) The bus is on your side of the road, or 2) In the opposite direction on a normal two-way road with a standard double-yellow centerline If a school bus is stopped with the stop sign out, you DON'T stop if : 1) The opposing directions are separated by a painted median area at least 18 inches wide, bounded by solid yellow lines, Washington law treats that as a divided roadway. Traffic traveling in the opposite direction does not have to stop for the school bus. The median does not have to be raised, landscaped, or made of concrete. A qualifying painted median area counts. This is under RCW 46.61.370 (school buses) together with RCW 46.61.150 (divided highways/painted median islands) Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Hi there, I'm an amateur stone carver and I'm living in a condo right now, and I have to move my stone carving activities out of the house (per the wifey, apparently I make the place too dusty 😅). Considering this is more of a hobby than a job for me, I'm trying to not spend a huge amount of money on a work space. Does anyone have any leads on a shop in the Issaquah area that I could get semi-regular and inexpensive access to to pursue my hobby? I make quite a bit of stone dust, but I'm usually pretty good about cleaning my workspace (as long as there is no carpet), and rotary tool carving can be kind of loud.
Anyone have any recommendations to get some 3"x 3" 11 gauge stainless steel shortened? My squat rack won't fit where I'm moving and need the six uprights shortened from 93" down to ~89-90". Anyone know a place to get a job like this done at?

Sammamish kitchen and pantry remodel we just designed. Here's what changed: Pantry: Tore out the old wire rack shelving and built a real walk-in pantry. There's a tall cubby tower to keep appliances off the counter, wood shelves, and a drawer base with a countertop. Cabinets: Replaced the dated honey oak and took the new cabinets all the way to the ceiling. No more dust-collecting gap up top, and a lot more storage. Island: Built a working island with the cooktop and seating for three, so the family can actually eat there. Old desk area: Removed the built-in desk next to the fridge and turned that wall into more cabinets. Three of the images are the exact 3D renderings of the plan. The other three are the same renderings with the decor filled in by AI, to show how it might look lived in. The cabinets and layout are identical in both.

What on Earth did I see last night? I usually expect to see coyotes, but not whatever this was. At first from a distance I thought it was a condor or a vulture which I don't even think come from here. Then as I walked closer it wasn't afraid of me, and now I think it's a chicken or a rooster? Anyone have any idea what it is? It was silent and made no noise, and didn't seem to be affected by people at all. There were a few of us there just watching it and we had no idea what exactly it was. If it was a chicken or a rooster, why on Earth is it walking around parks in the middle of the night? Where did it come from? Also thank you to the volunteers who closed the select few parks in the city. You guys are great. Thanks for helping that one person who's car battery was dead. Really wish we still had our park rangers but I appreciate those who are still trying to help.
