I’m trying to locate an April Fool’s Day article in the Seattle Weekly (maybe The Stranger) about a boy who invented some headgear contraption that allowed his grandmother to change channels on the TV by using her thoughts? The boy was then kidnapped by Microsoft. I feel like there was a bit of an uproar around it but starting to wonder if I made the whole thing up? It would’ve been published in the mid 90’s (pretty sure).

SDOT press secretary Ethan Bergerson confirmed via email late last week that the department was only looped in on Saka's package on August 19, the day before the first committee discussion was held. SDOT did provide feedback on the bill on September 4, Bergerson said, but no changes were incorporated by the September 8 meeting when Saka assured his colleagues that no further changes would be made. Because the bills aren't set to be formally introduced until September 15, two days before a final committee vote, the deadline to submit amendments was last week. ~ The amendment deadline landed before the bill existed. Committee votes Thursday the 17th if you have something to say about that.
Hey everyone! I’m trying to get my foot in the door of the cannabis industry, specifically on the production/farm side (packaging, trimming, processing, production support, etc.). I’ve applied to a couple entry-level positions I found on indeed but haven’t had much luck so far. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who currently works in the industry about how you got started, what employers look for, or where you’d recommend. If you know of any companies hiring around Tacoma/Pierce County or the surrounding area , I’d also really appreciate any leads! I’m willing to start at an entry-level position and learn. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share advice or point me in the right direction! 💚
I rented a car through Fox, and they are asking me to pay a ridiculous amount after i already paid for the rental and fees. I’m looking at a total of 862 for 6 days, which I can’t afford. Is there a better option that won’t kill my bank account. Need help asap
I'll be in Seattle to drop my daughter off at UW this week. While I'm there, I'll need to get in a long run Saturday morning of ±14 miles at ±9:45 / mile. Can anyone recommend any group runs with runners going this distance and pace? Ideally, I'd need to meet somewhere that's easily accessible through public transportation as I have an orca card, but not a car.
I recently bought a new car and am still waiting on the plates. I have the temporary registration taped in the window. Many lots require the license plate be entered when paying. Does anyone know if there is a lot downtown that does not require license plate entry? (ex: pay by lot #, etc.)
Hi all! Title says it - I lost my wallet this week and am hoping I’m lucky enough a kind soul of Reddit can help me out - it’s this wallet and on the back is this piercing map sticker in yellow. Thank you so much for your help and I hope your day is going better than mine :,) Last known location, around the Bellevue of Caphill light rail station. I have already made a case with KC Metro so will come back to update if I hear anything

I'm not sure if this is being talked about enough. Seattle has the worst vacancy rate in the country right now. Here is the latest report . As someone with a ton of entrepreneurial friends, I'm actually not shocked at all. Prices are way too high and the places that are empty are NOT getting back at all. The only thing holding back small business from blossoming in downtown are the outrageous offers. A 36% vacancy rate. That's insane considering the pricing of leasing. It almost seems intentional at this point. There are multiple spots at Pike Place alone that have been empty for a year or more and that's a nonprofit with better prices, but everyone I know cannot move forward into getting in there despite being suggested it's a sure thing. It seems so neglectful that there's millions being left on the table in every direction of this city. While that is happening, the skyscrapers are plummeting as an asset value here as well. Yet no price decreases for any offices being leased. . . A 50% decrease in value, but no budge on leasing prices. I know every time a vacancy tax is mentioned that bots flood those comments, but there are places with vacancy taxes that are seeing progress like Berkley, CA. This just seems to be a major issue that is going to be impossible to ignore.
